He has spent years mastering the details of wood-burning, multi-fuel, gas, and electric stoves, and is passionate about helping people find the right solution for their home.

Our Story & Heritage
Stove Yard Cheshire’s journey began in 2005, almost by accident. After buying two stoves for a house project, the team ended up selling one through a small newspaper advert — and the phone never stopped ringing. The demand for stoves, driven by rising energy costs, was overwhelming. What started as selling stoves from garages and hallways quickly became unsustainable, and soon a business was born.
By 2008, we opened our first Cheshire showroom and warehouse. Small but packed with choice, it gave customers the chance to see, touch and understand stoves first-hand — something online selling alone could never achieve. Customers could open the doors, test the handles, and picture how a stove would work in their home.
Our growth also meant recognition from leading brands. We became appointed dealers for Esse, Dunsley, Charnwood and Stovax, as well as pioneering Scandinavian stove makers such as Hwam and Wiking.
Alongside retail growth, Stove Yard Cheshire developed a reputation for technical expertise. We were among the first HETAS Approved Retailers, with training to provide detailed, reliable advice. We contributed to HETAS Technical and Installers Committees, and were founding members of the Stove Industry Alliance (SIA). Through these roles, we’ve helped shape national stove regulations, standards, and best practice — knowledge we continue to pass on to our customers today.
By 2014, we had outgrown our first premises and moved into a larger showroom and warehouse on the other side of the business park. With far more space, we created one of the most comprehensive stove displays in the North West, featuring more live stoves than ever before.
In August 2024, long-standing sales manager Russell Clarke became the sole owner of Stove Yard Cheshire. Since then, Russell and the team, including showroom manager Sam Taylor, have expanded the range even further. The refreshed showroom now features gas and electric fires, traditional and modern surrounds, and the latest media walls, alongside the trusted wood and multi-fuel stoves we’re known for.
